But Nancy's true identity came out after Ryan put two and two together after he found Nancy's lost locket, containing a photo of her as a baby that looked suspiciously similar to Lucy's baby picture. Yeah, a lot for a 19-year-old to deal with. All while dealing with the aftermath of the stunning bombshell that she's not really a Drew.
It played out in classic Nancy Drew style, with the amateur sleuth persuading Ryan to help her with a favor (it turned out to be a blood spell to try and kill the Aglaeca spirit haunting her and her friends) in exchange for her assistance in his desperate search for answers to Lucy Sable's death (even though Nancy had all the answers he was looking for). Only this time, Nancy ( Kennedy McMann) was the one to reveal reveal her secret to the last person still in the dark over her true identity: Nancy's biological father, Ryan Hudson ( Riley Smith). Ask your older friends and relatives about Scott Wolf and his dimples.The CW's freshman mystery drama kicked off its final two episodes of the season, unexpectedly cut short due to the coronavirus outbreak, in dramatic fashion, picking up right where it left off. You'll recognize a few from recent shows like The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Fosters. But some of her co-stars are long-time vets of the stage and screen. Kennedy McMann, the actress playing Nancy Drew, is a TV rookie, and in some ways that makes us even more eager to see what she'll do with this huge role.
(But let's be real, that's where this is going.) It remains to be seen whether this new group of beautiful people portraying troubled people (who also happen to be beautiful) will soon dominate our Instagram feeds and make headlines as we ship them in real life. Nancy Drew executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz gave us Gossip Girl and The O.C., after all. the people bringing us this grown up and spookier tale of the girl detective, are yet another batch of talented and super attractive actors. If the show is as good as we all hope, we might also soon become as obsessed with its cast the way we are with the Riverdale cast, or once were with the Vampire Diaries stars. After all, the network has a pretty good track record when it comes to bringing beloved characters from YA and comics to life. The excitement around the CW's new adaptation of Nancy Drew is high.
